Our Groupon offer for tasting, tour and free bottle of wine, was left behind at our hotel in Napa. What could have been a bad experience for us, turned into fantastic experience. Vezer is a family run winery, very friendly and unpretentious.

It is about a 30 minute drive, but seems a world away from Napa. We had a Groupon for the Vezer winery in Fairfield in the Suisun Valley. We started our week in Napa visiting the vineyards in Napa and Sonoma. If you want to go off the main path a little, I highly recommend it. Joseph took a lot of time and made it so fun. There were other people in the main room, but they do the tours in private groups. We were there a couple of hours and we had the tasting room to ourselves. Then back into the main house where we tasted about 6 more wine that Joseph paired with a nice selection of bread sticks, cheeses, meats, and chocolate. We started with a couple of wines to taste, then went on a tour of the grounds, were we had a barrel tasting. He is funny, passionate, informed, and made the experience very special. Joseph, our personal tour guide, was wonderful. It’s a beautiful southern looking building nestled in the rolling vineyards. It was about a 35 minute drive from Napa, but well worth the drive. On the last day we wanted to go to one that wasn't quite so commercial. The view, education, weather, and overall experience was fabulous. My husband and I spent 3 days in Napa going on wine tours and tasting at different vineyards.
